MUSIC MINISTRY

Miami Shores Community Church has a long tradition of musical excellence, not only through its choir but with concert series on our patio that have shared the talents of local musicians with the community.

Our music director, Carol Caselle, is a University of Miami graduate with bachelor’s and master’s degrees in music who has established herself in South Florida as a highly regarded voice teacher and performer. She considers music a calling, not just a profession, and believes that it can uplift the spirit and heal the soul. She first participated in sacred music at age 3, singing in the “cherub choir” at her home church in Upstate New York, and has continued that involvement ever since.

Carol thoughtfully selects the hymns for our services and accompanies them from the piano. She leads the choir with warmth, enthusiasm, and discipline, and sends the singers home from rehearsal feeling as though they’ve learned something.

The backbone of the choir are four professional-level singers who lead the soprano, alto, tenor, and bass sections. (That's a big reason why the choir sounds so good – and why it's so much fun for “civilians” to participate!) ​

. 

We have one evening rehearsal a week – usually on Wednesdays – and assemble at 9 a.m. Sundays to warm up for the 10 a.m. service. If you read music and enjoy singing, the choir will welcome you with open arms. Just contact Carol to get started.
